You might try that support alias, and let us know the result.

Here are two other things to try--in this order, please:

1) (as written by Steve Dodson, Microsoft Security)

Open up control panel and double-click on add/remove programs.
Select Microsoft AntiSpyware
Select "Change"
On the Microsoft AntiSpyware Maintenance Wizard, click next.
On the next screen (Microsoft AntiSpyware Maintenance Wizard) select Update
Microsoft AntiSpyware and click next.
Select Install
Let the product update.
Click Finish.

2) as provided by another beta user, Donna D, pursuant to advice from
others:

Try this (it works for me).

If you get the critical error 101 message every time you
double-click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta1 desktop
shortcut ...

Simply create a brand new ASCII text file:
c:\windows\system\101.bat

Put this SINGLE LINE into that text file:
"c:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\gcasDtServ.exe"
-Embedding

THEN, whenever you get the critical error 101 message,
just type at the "Start -> Run" command line:
101
and then press the "Enter" key.

That will run the program above which solves the
problem temporarily (until the next reboot it seems).

I do this each time BEFORE I run the Microsoft
AntiSpyware beta1 on WindowsXP & it works for me!

I don't know WHY it works (what does the gcasDtServ
program do anyway?) but it works for me & many others.

I also had the problem that you're describing.
Installation of Win Xp SP2 resolved the problem.

Greetz.

"c:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\gcasDtServ.exe"
-Embedding

Do I use the quotes? Do I include -Embedding? Should -Embedding be on the same line as the rest of the instruction?
