Getting device driver errors related to my CD-Rom.. PC is a P4 2.6GH running
1GB Ram and a 200GB IDE HDD. The OS is WinXP Pro with SP2 plus all of the
current available hotfixes.
The error displayed via the device properties is related to 'Code 39' and I
also get the following displayed via the WinXP error log :
Service Control Manager The following boot-start or system-start driver(s)
failed to load: Cdrom cdudf_xp UdfReadr_xp
I've physically changed the CD-ROM with another machine I have (running
Win98SE) and can confirm the drive is physically working. I've also swapped
in another CD-Rom (from the Win98SE box) and get the same errors so I'm
pretty sure the problem is a driver corruption or some sort of registry
corryuption on the WinXP machine.
Any help or advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Wenzel
