Error installing Windows Updates

I have a Dell server running Windows 2000 Server SP4. I get the following
errors when trying to install the Security Updates:
Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB896423)
Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (KB891861)

The error log shows the following:

Any thoughts on why this is happening? BTW, I was able to install other
files from the Windows Update Site like the .NET Framework 1.1 without
issue.

I have seen the exact same behaviour on Windows 2000 SP4 trying to
install the Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4. I get error
0x80246007 (only). I, too, haven't had problems installing other
updates from windows update.
