Error installing sp2

Hello everyone.
I try to update my computer windows xp home edition
I have Problem installing SP2
i get error-code 0x80070017
does anyone know what to do.

0x80070017 -2147024873 - ERROR_CRC
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

Perhaps some hard disk maintenance/housecleaning.

this happens sometimes due to hardware failure. Windows XP SP2 has a
bug!
However Microsoft provides a HOTfix (a small patch) that should be
installed on the system before upgrading to SP2.
this happened to me once and this is how i got it done:
1.Install Windows XP SP1.
2.Download and install the hotfix.
3.Download and install the SP2 Package.
