Error Installing KB892519 & an error: 0x80004003

1) Automatic Updates is always asking me to install the same Definition
Update 1.13.1276.16 for BETA Windows Defender (KB892519), even when, each
time, it's installed "successfully".
2) If I click the "Start Scan" button, a warning window saying "Windows
Defender encountered an error: 0x80004003. Invalid pointer" suddenly appears.

The second issue is a bug. Microsoft now has reproduced this issue,
understood it, and has a fix. However, the fix will not be available to us
until the next rev of the UI part of Windows Defender--no timeline
specified.
 
It was poor judgment on Microsoft's part to remove a working product
(AntiSpyware) and replace it with a bugged Beta 2. While consumers understand
that Beta versions may have issues, the darn thing should work in some
limited fashion and/or an update should be pushed out immediately.
 
The scanning issue isn't seen by all users.

I'm not sure I have all the scanning issues straight, but I believe the
workaround for this one is to simply select a scan from the menu.

Microsoft hasn't done anything to shut down the previous beta--no autoupdate
has been enabled, no notification has gone out to all beta users.

The previous code is still available from some sources--notably
www.filehippo.com and I've tested that removing Windows Defender and
reinstalling Microsoft Antispyware is indeed possible--multiple times.

So--yes there are bugs in the new version, but you can see many messages
here indicating successful scanning. Real-time protection works well for
nearly everyone, and updating is also working well for most users--although
again, there are some bugs.
