Error in XP professional

I keep getting an error that says system.exe encountered
an error and needs to shut down. Then it gives me the
option to send the error to microsoft or not. Earthlink
told me this error has to do with a virus. ANybody have
any ideas? Additionally, i can not view web pages
anymore, and the problem seems to happen when i start
explorer....thanks....

Did you not take action by having your anti-virus
software (assuming you do have some installed, enabled
and currently updated) scan your system for infection?
It sounds very much as if you *do* have an infection -
perhaps by MSBlast or one of its variants. Try to go to
www.symantec.com, for a scan and removal tools.
