Each time the computer starts up (windowsZPSP2) I receive the message "
Unable to finn "tsass.exe" The start up hangs there until I manage to
delete the message, which is not easy. I have checked all over the web and
microsoft with out finding an answer. Any Ideas??

The only mention of that file I see has to do with malware. Are you sure it
isn't lsass.exe?

Go to start, run, type msconfig <enter>
What's in your startup tab?

Do you have good, current generation antivirus software, kept updated? Did
you run a full scan? Did you try downloading the latest versions of AdAware
& Spybot, updating them, and running full scans?

In addition to MSCONFIG, see www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Startup Programs Tracker. This utility gives a more readable presentation than MSCONFIG and the included Help gives you basic information on how to remove the offending entry.

It is lsass.exe. Winpatrol says that it is essential for networking. I have
Norton always on scanning everything that comes in or goes out. It even scans
my out going mail. I have also gone to PC pit stop and ran all of their tools
and scans. One of the sites states that malware can disquise it self as
lsass.exe. This morning I tried system restore and it blocked that. I was
able to finish start up by hitting Esc button.
