Attempting to use the procedure in #824125 (Replace failed
motherboard). After replacing the motherboard with a
different brand, I proceeded to "repair" the installation,
selecting the boot partition and pressing "R".
During the file copying process an error occured when
trying to copy "NT5INF.CAT" from "E:\I386" which is the
correct location but the file is a *.CA_ catalog file, not
a *.CAT file.
No matter what I try, I can't get past this point. How can
I complete the repair and get the system working again
without doing a fresh install which would loose all the
data on the drive?
