The world of computers is leaving me cold. I wrote a bunch and got a nice
warm "I'm Sorry. Your Post Did Not Go Through." or something like that!
Yeeessshhhh!

I shoot on a Sony VX2100. Lovely camera. I download via firewire into my
external hard drive. Then I edit my project using WMM2. Lovely editor.

Then I try to upload my finished product to my DV camera to record it on
tape. DV camera is actually a Sony mini deck.

First time I did it, it worked great. Got the edited project back on tape so
it could be turned into a DVD. I hooked up DVD burner via firewire to
miniDeck and what I got was a mess! The DVD I burned stalled and jerked and
halted when played back. Frames that should have moved froze...and audio
continued tracking over them.

Yet the edited project plays smooth as silk on the computer. This is my new
business! But I can't rely on it. What should I check first? And thanks in
advance for any direction! Maybe THIS time the post will get to ya'll.

The condition of your hard drive is critical when copying files to a
camcorder... free up space, defrag, don't use other apps during the
process, etc...

And it might be best to save it to your hard drive first as a DV-AVI file,
and then copy it to your deck... the WinDV utility often works better than
MM2 because it uses a larger buffer... there's a link to it on my Setup >

I hvent used these particular functions yet. However, as we place high
demand on input-output operations, device conflicts can arise in the
typical computer. You could check the system for conflicting devices,
shut down applications not required and disable communication devices
not in use.
Movies require a lot of attention from the CPU so that some delay or
hesitation problems my disappear by disabling the anti-virus and
firewall software.
