Hello there:

This is my issue, I have a user that has Outlook 2000 and
is running Exchange Server 5.5. I have set the
autoarchiving to archive anything older than 6 months. I
continuously get the following error:

Error autoarchiving your inbox, items either were moved,
or deleted.

I have tried exported items also and get the same error.
I get it on the sent items and inbox. The user has about
4000 items in the inbox and 1200 in the sent items. This
is an ongoing issue. I am in desperate need of some
advice on how to fix this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How large is the archive file?

Well, it doesn't really matter because I have tried new
folders as well as adding to an existing archive folder
and still the results are the same.

Have you tried creating a new mail profile for the user?

G'day Rebecca,

A while ago I had a similar problem with a user's PC here (1,000s of items
many with large attachments, OL2000 on Exch2000) and resolved it by
"playing" with the "older than" times; eventually I got it to work at older
than 2 months. Don't know why but might be worth a try.

Cheers,
Julian

No, I haven't done that. I did try to move the mail to a
pst to try and recreate a new mailbox but during export I
get the some error.

I have played with the dates too and can get it to work
for a bit but only manually. It doesn't work autoarchive
wise.

Thanks for the advice though!!!

Cheers right back

Rebecca
