Hi
I have been using Vista for some time now and have RC1 installed. Like all
other public BETA's, RC1 was working fine but I am now getting a problem
trying to update Windows Vista.
I have just reinstalled Vista and activated without problems but when I
attempted to check for updates, I got the following ERROR message:
X Windows could not search for new updates
Error(s) found:
Code 8024400A
Prior to reinstalling RC1, updating Windows was not a problem, so why is it
happening now?
I have followed the info for automatically detecting LAN settings in
internet options/connections (and we have never had to do this before -
update just worked), but that did not resolve the problem.
I have also seen something about the network using a proxy server but we are
not using a proxy server and never have done.
This problem has never ocurred before and certainly never with Vista and
what I don't understand is that after Vista installation, I was able to
immediately activate it.
I would appreciate some help ASAP.
Regards
Dave
