Error for Excel?

After upgrading to Windows XP I lost all of Microsoft
Works, I had to reinstall my spreadsheet application
(.wks) but now I recieve an error when tring to open an
Excel file.

Please Help
 
Works is not Excel. I do not believe that Works can open Excel files and vice
versa
