After adding the latest Microsoft security patches to our SUS server this
week (specifically, the GDI+ tool), we started getting this error message at
log on from some of our workstations. Users just clicked OK and it didn't
cause any problems. I later found out this was only affecting Windows 2000
Pro and users who were not admins on their machines. To fix it, I simply
logged in as admin, went to
http://www.microsoft.com/security/bulletins/200409_jpeg.mspx and ran the
ActiveX control on the page. I'm assuming this probably placed the
AU_gdi.inf file correctly...
I think this might have been an SUS problem, since the security bulletin
said the GDI+ tool was not for Windows 2000 anyway...
