Whenever I try to copy files and folders from a CD-ROM that I made onto my
laptop, I get a message that says "Cannot copy [the filename]: Data error
(cyclic redundancy check)."
I checked my driver for the CD-ROM and the computer says that its okay and
that it's the most current one available. Does anyone know what the problem
(and solution) might be?

CRC errors always indicate a problem with the medium
that you are trying to access. Either your CD drive has
become marginal, or the CD itself is of poor quality.
Try some commercial CDs to determine if your CD drive
is OK.

Agreed. Also try the CD in another machine and see if you can copy the
contents to see if the CD is good.
