Error Copying File or Folder?

I have been trying to copy .CDA files from a music CD to my hard disk
but have been constantly encountering the "Cannot copy [name of the
file trying to copy]: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" error. Why
is this error coming up & how do I avoid it to copy the files from the
CD to my hard disk?

Please give me a concrete solution to resolve this issue. It's really
testing my patience now!

Thanks,

Arpan

The disk and or drive may be bad.

Some drives have been known to be extremely bad at DAE (Digital Audio
Extraction). Unfortunately, there is little that can be done for these
drives. If the disc 'rips' OK on another machine, then you may have
this problem.

Another possibility is that the music company concerned has decided to
place some kind of really lame copy-protection on the CD. Bypassing
this copy-protection can land you in seriously big trouble depending on
which branch of your government the music industry is running.

Tools are available to work around this, but unfortunately, in the UK,
courtesy of what is known as the 'Euro-DMCA' (Which failed to be
implemented europe-wide, but Darth Blunkett ensured that it did here) I
cannot name them.
