I am trying to play some audio files on my computer hard drive using Windows
Media Player 11 version 11.0.5721.5230. When I attempt to play the file, I
recieve the error telling me "File extension (.mp3) does not match file
format". If I click the Web Help option in the warning, I'm given the Error
Code C00D1199. Help! Can anybody give me advice on how to play the file?

Here a few things that may help (as long as you down't have a corrupted file
........)

1) Try a different media player (Audacity, VLC etc, or Google for a free wav
to mp3 converter). Convert the mp3 to wav format then back again.

3) Use Gspot to gauge if you have the correct codecs on your machine
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

2) If not, download this :
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_lite_codec_pack.htm

3) Re-install wmp11 on top of itself (last resort).

Cheers,
Jerry
