Hi ,I amalso suffering the same problem.Hope to get some help to resolve
this issue.
Thanks

I am having the same problem too. Maybe we should really wait for saome time
before attempting again.

So why then are my friends all connected. Also, I can use
webmessenger.msn.com. Only when I use MSN Messenger 7.5 it doesn't work,
seems strange to me... please tell me why I must wait until later? Is the
server full? If so that doesn't make sense. :S

I can login using web based clients, but MSN messenger and Windows Live
messenger will not let me login.

Your thoughts?

MSN recently announced that there are still some faults with windows live
your easisest option is to go back to 7.0 as that seems safer and more
reliable than live or 7.5

I have had no problem so far with Live except of course today as alot of ppl
have also noted.. I would not however go as far to say 7.0 is safer as it
also does not work for me..

heres the fix guys! it worked for every1 thats done it so far!

add these 2 lines to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
65.54.239.80 messenger.hotmail.com
65.54.239.80 dp.msnmessenger.skadns.net

ooh, for thos of you who cant see ur hosts file, open notepad and put in
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" as the file name... make sure u dont
ad .txt to the file name wen u save it but if you do then just re-name and
delete the extension...

Hi,

May I confirm with you if I should paste your commands underneath:

# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

OR

127.0.0.1 localhost

, please?

My hosts file is like following:

# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

=======================================

SO I would like to confirm with you and make it clearly.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Greetings,

Actually it doesn't matter. You can put it anywhere. However, i'd suggest putting under the
localhost entry as you SHOULD BE REMOVING THESE in a few days as by overriding the normal DNS
resolution of Messenger, will stop you from logging into Messenger when Microsoft changes the
addresses again in the future.
