error code 80072F8F

I keep getting this error code whenever I try to update or register vista
beta 2, Help would be greatly appreciated, I would really like to register it.

also totally unrelated, but voice recognition will only load on startup and
no other time, once closed it wont open until i reboot

I'm able to start Speech Recognition without loading at startup. Used it to
dictate this reply. Don't know about the error code though.
