For many months our VPN clients at a remote site have been
able to connect to the HQ with no trouble what so ever.
Recently though, our clients are getting a sporatic
connection. It will connect, and then when you try to
connect again 5 minutes later, the 721 "Remote Computer
Not Responding" error code displays. To try to
troubleshoot this, we have loaded RRAS VPN on another
server and get the same problem. We have opened up the
firewall completely, but all to know avail.
It doesn't appear to be an issue with XP Professional
clients but only with 2000 Professional clients. Too,
they all have the latest service packs and hotfixes. Is
there a recent hotfix that is backfiring and actually
causing this problem that we should remove?
It appears to that logging off of the workstation or
rebooting, helps, but not for long.
Any thoughts?
