Hi,
I Lost both my CD drive letters in My Computer. I have
Windows 2000. It happened when I went into the registry
and deleted everything with the word "Canon" in it. (I was
having trouble with deleting a Canon program.) I tried to
back up the last known good registry, I even re-installed
Windows 2000 over its self, neither worked. The CD drive
will work before I boot up into Windows, that's how I was
able to do a re-installation

How can I get them back. They are both properly listed in
my Device Manager. When I click on them I get, "This
device is not working properly because Windows cannot load
the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". What
can I do?

Thanks,
Tom G

Restore the registry from a recent backup.

Thanks Jim,
But I have Windows 2000, do you think their advice on
Windows XP will help?
Tom
