I have not been able to network a Vista laptop to an XP desktop for file
sharing or printer sharing. I'm using a wireless network and both computers
are able to communicate with the router and thereby the internet. I finally
disabled Simple File Sharing on the XP which at least resulted in the XP PC
showing up on the Vista Network page. However, when I try to access the XP
PC I get an ERROR CODE 0x80070035 message and advise to check the spelling of
the PC's name (which is correct). Any suggestions??? Also, even less luck
accessing the Vista laptop from the XP desktop.

Both of my computers are running Vista Home Premium. Yet I'm having a
similar problem.

I can share files with the laptop computer from my desktop computer, but the
desktop computer cannot see files shared by the laptop.

The map shows all of the computers.

You can try here and see if this describes what is going on, there are a
couple different scenarios -
