I am having the same problem. Here's what happened. I tried to install 256 mb of RAM. It worked fine the first time I started windows. I then installed a game - unreal tournament 2004 - and when I restarted I ran a test that HP notes said I should run, and the I got the error code and "windows is having trouble accurately checking the license on this computer." I can get on my computer every 5th try or so, either through a default profile or something else. It tells me I do not have enough virtual memory/insufficient system resources to open my profile. I read the notes on this site and it said something about the anti-virus affecting something, so I uninstalled AVG 6.0 for windows (by Grisoft) and also the game. That didn't seem to work yet. I'm using an HP Pavillion 751n and did not receive a Windows disk w/ it. Running XP Home Edition. I was told the XP software is in the computer. I would love to not have to reinstall windows, can anybody help me. Also, I'm not sure about the whole renaming files process, so if anyone can give a little more detail, that would be great
Also, why did 3 or 4 people (those that posted here), plus however many else out there who didn't post here, have this same problem around the same time? Are we all running the same program?
Thanks
