Error-Checking

I left "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt
recovery of bad sectors " blank and ran Error-Checking.

At completion I got an "Error-checking complete" window.
Is there a text log written somewhere so I can view details?

I tried check marking "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors " and it
seemed as if it hung with the HD light on. Is this just a long process? I
waited quite a while.

I don't have any problems(that I am aware of) with my computer. Just trying
to see how Error-Checking runs before I advise a friend of mine.

Thanks

The results of Chkdsk are stored in the Application Event Log. To view
it right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then expand out Event
Viewer and choose the System Event Log. The surface test you ran can be
a long process but you should see a status bar move as it progresses. It
will go though different stages as it checks things.
