C00D11C9: Cannot burn files to CD
Windows Media Player cannot burn (copy) the files to the CD. You might
encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:
The CD burner (recorder) is busy. Wait for the drive to complete its current
task, and then try again.
The burner is not compatible with your version of Windows. Verify that the
burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device
drivers, and then try again.
To verify that the drive is compatible and to download the latest device
drivers, see the Windows Catalog at the Microsoft Web site.

I don't know how to verifty that the drive is compatible. I did get some
instructions to follow and there was something about a recording tab being
displayed. It was there, but it still wouldn't recognize the burner. Also,
my only option when trying to burn is from the C drive. The D drive isn't an
option to choose.....

Your "D" drive is the burner, thus you burn from "C" to "D" that means you
do not have a D drive choice, unless you have a dual burner. Like from D to
E, etc. To verify if the drive is compatible, means that it will function
with
WindowsXP. If you purchased and installed the drive yourself at a later date
did you check/verify if it is XP compatible. If it came installed, it
already has
been verified to be compatible.
