Hi all,

When iturned on my laptop today after a few minutes it
crashed; blue screen and the following error:

Error code 000000c5, parameter1 00000000, parameter2
00000002, parameter3 00000001, parameter4 80533f7b.
(I found it in the event viewer)

I turned it on again I reported the eror to microsoft
which could not help me. So I thought of asking if you
have any idea.

Microsoft suggests that it might be a driver problem, but
this is strange, since I did not install any devices from
last night. Also it was suggested that a firewall
programme could be the problem. The fact is that I have
been using zone alarm (freeware) for the last 4 months
with no problems whatsoever. IN any case I uninstalled
it, but this did not fix the problem.

The blue screens keep on coming in a random order. For
example right now the computer is working ok for 20
minutes, but before that it worked for only 2!!! And
before that around 10!! And without changing anything!!

I have a laptop FUJITSU-SIEMENS P4 1.7 512 mb ddr ram
with win XP home installed. OS is updated and the
computer is virus protected by KAsperski anti virus
(updated daily).

Look forward for your responses,
Andreas

This may also indicate a hardware failure. You could try using the
System Restore tool to make sure that the configuration is ok and
start the System File Checker with the command
SFC /scannow
to check the core Windows files. If this does not help you should
bring in the machine to your local hardware store to have it checked.
