Error after XP OS install

I am having a problem with XP OS. I have had to replace the hardrive,
formatted it and reinstalled XP. It installs, but when it reboots I get a
black screen that says(No boot device detected, system halted) I assumed
that when I installed the OS again, that all the necessary files would be
there. Is there any advice please, I just don't know what to do.

Make sure that you have the new hard drive on the primary IDE. Then make sure
that the jumpers are set corectly. The jumper should be set to master. It
sounds like the jumpers may be your problem.
 
Thank you for your response. My HD is on the primary IDE, and the jumper is
set to Master. I'm thinking that I'm getting this problem because the BIOS
is still set to boot from CD-ROM after install. I need to go back into BIOS
and set it to boot from the hard drive now, would that sound correct? I'm
learning as I go. Thanks again.
