I upgraded a Sony Viao laptop from XP Home to XP Professional at the reboot I receive at the windows startup I receive the following message not enough virtual memory - if you try to restart the upgrade because it thinks it has not finished the upgrade it continues to get this error - you cannot start in safemode because it gives you the same error

I followed the instructions on your website on upgrading from XP Home to XP Pro

Any suggestions

I've just experienced the same problem upgrading a new machine from WinXP Home to Professional.

Did you ever solve the problem?

As per Microsoft web site, you cannot upgrade XP Home Servicepack 1 to XP Pro without a service pack. Let me know if this is a Sony Notebook, I'll provide you the steps to install a fresh copy of XP Pro, upgrade it to Servicepack 1 and install all the Sony drivers and Applications
