Hi,
I am trying to access some of the registry keys through windows registry
editor, but I am not able to access them, though I am administrator on the
machine. I am not trying to modify any of the keys, I am just trying to read
those keys.

Some of the keys that I am not able to access are like:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{GUID}\Properties
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{GUID}\Properties
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{GUID}\Properties
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{GUID}\Properties

Are these keys are protected by WRP feature of Vista? If so it should
atleast allowed me to read those keys.

One more thing when I try to export these keys, it says key does not exist.

Can anybody update me on this issue?

Thanks in advance.

If I'm not mistaken, you must explicitely run regedit.exe as Administrator.
I'm not overly familiar with Vista Beta 2 yet, but most apps have an option
of running as admin by right-clicking them and selecting "Run as
Administrator"

These keys are highly ACL'ed to encourage use of the Device management API's
rather then direct access to the registry. What is it you're trying to get
to? Or is this just curiousity?

If you really really want to view these keys, then change the permissions on
the keys to allow Administrator read access.
