Error accessing imbedded Excel object in PowerPoint

My client is running Office SBE 2003, and they have several Excel
spreadsheets imbedded in their presentations. Several are giving them the
same problem. When they access the slide and double click the spreadsheet to
enter information, they receive an Excel error that keeps the PowerPoint
processes running, but they can no longer use the program until they kill the
process.

What is really strange is that this seems to only happen on two individual
computers, but not on any others in the office. And, I loaded their Office
on a new PC to test it, and it worked fine...at least until I loaded camera
software. But we reloaded this system and I did not load the camera
software, and I am getting the same error.

Any ideas? I thought I had narrowed down the camera software, but today
proved me wrong. I'm not sure what else to do.

Whether or not that lets the camera software off the hook depends on what you
mean by "reloaded". As in "formatted and started from scratch" or as in
"re-installed Office"? The latter wouldn't necessarily remove anything
installed by other programs, so wouldn't always fix things.
