I have several databases that I am having a problem with. Development goes
along just fine. Then, at some point, out of nowhere, I get a message that
says "Error Accessing File. Network connection may have been lost". Then the
database does all sorts of strange things, like I can't copy and paste a
report in the database to a new report name in the same database. If I do a
compact and repair, it sometimes saves the resulting database as db1.mdb or
some variation thereof. It still doesn't solve the problem.
The thing is, there is no external data in these databases. They are
self-contained. The tables are in the same database; no links. So I don't
understand how I can be having problems accessing the file, and I sure don't
know what it means to have the network connection go bad. I did a repair of
Office 2000, but there is nothing different. I don't why this is happening.
I have very comprehensive virus protection in place and it always up to
date, so this is not something like that. If you have any ideas, I'd
appreciate your help.
Thanks!
