Error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost

When I am copying a Form, Report or Module into a new one
(if I don't go into the code, and make a modification and
save it) this error appears: "Error accessing file.
Network connection may have been lost".

Is there something I can do to avoid this step every time.

Thanks in advance.

This is due to a known issue described in the following KB article:

ACC2000:Error Message: Error Accessing File. Network Connection May Have
Been Lost (Q304548)
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=304548

The corruption in your mdb cannot be repaired. You will need to use a recent
backup of the mdb. You may be able to import uncorrupted objects from the
damaged mdb into a new mdb and then import the corrupted objects from the
recent backup.

To *prevent* further corruption you should obtain the Office2000 Service
Pack. This issue has been resolved with this SP. For more information on
SP3 check out the following KB articles:

OFF2000: Overview of Office 2000 Service Pack 3
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;326585

*** Note *** Until you install SP3 you should be sure to compile your
project after you import or copy/paste code into any mdb *before* you close
the mdb. This will also prevent further corruption.

Sandra: Thanks for your reply, it was very helpful.
I have another question though, is there a way to avoid
the conflicts generated on Office 97/2000 with proyects
compiled in Office Xp.
I apologize for the inconveniences that I may have caused
you...
Thanks again.

I'm not sure I understand your question - are you referring to problems such
as this one? If so, then your best bet is to get Office 2000 SP3 and that
should take care of it for you. I have 3 versions of Office on one machine
and this is the only version related problem that I have had. If I didn't
answer your question then post back with a more detailed explanation of your
concern and I'll try to give you some answers.

BTW - you haven't caused any inconvenience, this newsgroup is intended to
help people get answers to questions. Read, learn and enjoy!
