Hi,
I have a w2k server running with routing en remote access, connecting with
pptp gives no problem at all but connecting with l2tp does. L2tp should be
more secure for authentication because it uses a certificate which should be
located on the server and client computer. Now I have tried several things
with no result, I always get the message "Error 781: The encryption attempt
failed because no valid certificate was found." or "Error 786: The L2TP
connection attempt failed because there is no valid machine certificate on
your computer for security authentication.". Does anyone have a nice manual
on how to generate and install the certificates on server and client?
Which type of certificate should it be and in which store it should be
installed etc.
Thanks in advance,
Dennis
