This morning one of our users reported he couldn't connect to the company
VPN. He has had no problems up until now. Then this morning he is getting
erro 649 "User doesn't have permission to dial-in". Nothing has changed on
the users account. He is a member of a group with dial in permissions and his
account is not locked.
It is not a problem with the VPN as all other users have connected ok.
have gone round and round looking for the problem but i can't find what
would be causing it.
We have RAS on a 2000 server that is a DC, it uses windows authentication.
We use PPTP to dial in. The users allowed to dial in are placed in the
RAS_Users group that is granted dial in permission in the routing policy.
I have looked up error 649 but no of the supposed causes apply to this
account.
I can't think what else is causing this problem.
Can anyone help
Cheers
