Ramesh,
Thank you. As it turns out the CTRL+F problem with IE was a sign of many
more serious problems with my machine/OS. There were no signs of Virus or
Spyware on it, nevertheless the machine needed to be rebuilt from scratch.
Now I have a fresh, functioning system, including IE which is capable of
handling JavaScript correctly as well as CTRL+F. I am not sure I know the
reasons for my system's rapid deterioration in the last few, and why such
drastic measures as a full rebuild was necessary, but it became completely
useless.
Thanks again,
Zvi
Zvi,
Try registering these DLLs as well:
oleaut32.dll
actxprxy.dll
shdocvw.dll
Then, type this command in Start/Run (Courtesy of Robert Aldwinckle)
iexplore.exe /rereg
Close all browser windows before running the above command.

Ramesh,
Unfortunately registering all these servers did not help, and I am still
getting the same error.
Thanks for your help.
Zvi
Zvi,
See if these commands help, from Start/Run:
REGSVR32 MSHTMLED.DLL
REGSVR32 JSCRIPT.DLL
REGSVR32 /i MSHTML.DLL

When I attempt to find text in a web page (CTRL-F, Find (on this page)) the
Find popup dialog box shows. I type in it the Find What text and click Find
Next, at this point I get an error message "Error: 49, Interface not
registered".
I use IE6.0.2900.2180 on a machine with XP professional, and have SP2
installed on it.
Please advice how to remedy the above problem.
Thanks in advance for any tips, ideas, suggestions.
