error 4010 lpdsvc

sorry for the duplicate post

I'm trying to setup printing using unix print services through microsoft.
the print job is sent to the workstation that has the printer connected but
nothing prints. looking in the event log I see event id 4010, source lpdsvc,
"request from 10.48.162.3 could not be satisfied possibly due to network
problems"

the firewall is turned off
the tcp/ip service is running

I found that this was a problem with windows 2000 that was fixed in a
service pack. but could not find anything about windows xp having this issue

does anyone have any ideas???

Hello

You must activate de byte count option on your LPR configuration port.
That was worked fine for me.
