Does anyone know if Visual Basic.NET solves a problem in
VB6. In VB6, there is a problem using the Jet engine to
access an oracle database that results in error 3078?

Yes, the problem has to do with the way Oracle references
its objects. There is a problem report. We are looking at
work arounds, but in the report it states that Microsoft
is looking to address the problem in a new version of VB.

Thanks for the post.

Hi Norman,

I think the problem is not related to .NET at all - it is most likely either
a Jet bug or an Oracle connectivity problem. Have you tried to search the
Microsoft Knowledge Base for this error code?
