I just bought an acer laptop with windows vista installed on it. My son
mistakenly tried to uninstall ATI Catalyst Install Manager, realized his
mistake and stopped the uninstall in the middle of the process. Now when I
try to repair it, I get the following two messages: "The featue you are
trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" and "ERROR 1706
NO VALID SOURCE COULD BE FOUND FOR PRODUCT ATI CATALYST INSTALL MANAGER.THE
WINDOWS INSTALLER CAN NOT CONTINUE". I've searched high and low on these
errors but find only issues involving other specific software and each
solution is different so I'm at a loss as to solving this specific problem.
Has the registry been damaged? Can anyone offer help?

Do a System Restore to before your son tinkered.

To run System Restore, go to the Start Orb and in the Start Search box type
"System Restore" without the quotes. System Restore will appear in the
Programs result. Click on it, allow the UAC prompt, and follow the wizard.
