Hello,

I've got Error 1327 while installing software on a network drive. The drive
is read and writeable without any problems. Just installing with Microsoft
Installer gives me this error message. The full error messages is "Error
1327. Invalid drive P:\"

Any ideas what might cause the error?

Greetings and thanks in advance,
Andy

This error indicates a limitation on the account used to install the
software. You may have read/write access to the network drive but there may
be restrictions on the ability to install software.

Are you sure the software involved can, in fact, be installed to a
network drive? Not all software can.

Hi Adrian,

there are no user quotas enabled. I want to install OpenOffice.org 2.3 on a
network share, provided by a samba server in the same network.

Hi Sid,

yes, I'm quite sure. I've noticed a few OpenOffice.org installations which
came from a network share.
Installing on a local drive works.

Greetings,
Andy

Andreas,

Used to have the same problem on the 11, 000 workstations at work with installing Adobe
Acrobat. What we used to do is creat a mapped P:\ drive to any location & install the
software. Once installed, delete the mapped drive
