I get error 1305 error reading from file-I am very frustrated as I can't find where to get help

Try copying the contents of the CD to a directory on your hard drive and
then install Office 2000 from the hard drive.

If Harry Ohms response doesn't solve it, then clean out your Temporary files.
Your whole system probably needs cleaning even deleting cookies and doing
a Defrag. Error 1305 - gave many hits on a Google search. One of the hits
solved the problem by cleaning their system. Happy putering!

thanks Michael. The problem with CD-Rom caching might be one reason why a
person can have a successful install from the hard drive when they can't
install from the CD. I never thought of that.

You're welcome, Harry.

You are quite correct and your solution will no doubt work. I was thinking
the article might help prevent the problem in the future as well as an
option for the OP if for some reason installing the from the hard drive
fails as well.
