I have found,by chance, that MS Anti loads
perfctly, every time, if I am NOT connected to
the internet via my broadband link. Once loaded, a
broadband connection makes no difference but, you got to
be offline when you first try loading.

Are you getting Error 103 on that load--when it fails?

If so--would you please send your errors.log file to:

(e-mail address removed)

Explain in the email the circumstance you have observed about the broadband
connection--and also give some details about what kind of connection that
is--is there software involved in connecting, for example.

My broadband modem is a Thomson SpeedTouch 330 and when
connected via it, ALL attempts at loading MS AntiSpyware
fail and are met with an Error 103. Running XP Pro and no
other snags. With NO internet connection I can load MS
AntiSpyware every time and carry out scans etc. Having
loaded MS/AS I can connect via SpeedTouch for updates and
contact with this newsgroup. I am no techie but, if the
log you mention would be helpful please advise how/where
to find it.
Rgds,
Wally.

Log file is where you install MSAS. If it is "big" (but reasonable as some
reached a lot of Go) it should be zipped.

Sorry - been offline a good bit in the last few days.

This log file is often, by default here:

c:\program files\microsoft antispyware\errors.log
