Hi I installed MSASW and it installed fine, ran through the setup wozard and
I accepted all defaults, then when it came to installing realtime
protection, it sat there and did nothing for ages - I left it an hour and
when I try to alt-tab to a different window, it said "please wait while xxx
is installing" - no option but to reset machine - now I get the icon in the
sys tray but each time I try to open the interface I get an error 103 - same
text as all the posts to do with 101 errors.

Anyone else or help?

Are you installing as an Administrator on your machine?
Try installing to a non-standard directory--try c:\msas for example.

AJ - I was having the same problem. Now I get error
codes indicating that the various components of the
spyware "failed to register." I run Windows XP (Home),
so I don't know what the problem is. Also, I cannot
delete it. It seems to be stuck, doing nothing...

If that problem persist its definitely permission issue. Also try installing
in a non default location such as c:\msas for example.

Hey,

I was the original poster of a resolution to error 103.
Read the forums ;)

I found it was a problem with permissions in the directory
structure where I was installing the software. I had an
administrator equivalent account, but the permissions on
c:\program files was b0rked. I fixed the NTFS
file/directory permissions and reinstalled the software to
fix that problem.

Try to install with an administrator equivalent account.
If that doesn't work then check the file & directory
permissions. You may have to adjust them.
