Error 101 - I can not open AntiSpywarwe beta 1

I have just installed MS AntiSpywarwe beta 1. I can not
open it: MS AntisSpyware has encountered a critical error
(Error 101). Please restart....Please uninstall and install
the most recent version....
I tried many times...
 
So you are receiving the classic 101 error too? It's an odd error that is
caused by several things... usually it because of a permission issue. An
update or a reinstallation will usually work.

Here's how to Update:


1. Logged in with admin privileges, open your Control Panel
2. Select Add/Remove Programs
3. Select Microsoft AntiSpyware
4. Click Change
5. The Maintenance Wizard will open. Select Next
6. Click Update Microsoft AntiSpyware
7. Select Install and the product will install
8. Click Finish
If that doesn't work, you can uninstall it completely from the control panel
and reinstall

You can try killing the program and restarting it:

1. Hit CTRL-ALT-DEL -> open task manager
2. Select gcasDTServ.exe
3. Select End Process
4. Restart the antispyware program
The newsgroups have also been suggesting making sure your DCOM service is
started:

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. In the textbox enter C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost -k DcomLaunch
4. Click OK

Please try JohnF's advice to fix this error.

In addition, Microsoft is interested in being certain they understand why
this error is being seen.

If you have an Error 101, 102, or 103, please send your "errors.log" file
to:

(e-mail address removed)

This will help the developers be sure they have covered all the bases,

I had the same problem, uninstalled and re installed

several times. Then went to My computer, Program Files,
Microsoft Antispyware, and clicked on
GIANTAntiSpywareMain and it launches the program.
 
Well.....I have done all of the above!.......I even done a
fresh reinstall!!

No joy!

Same 101 error.......:(
