Error 0x8050800c

When every I start Defender Beta 2 to scan for spyware, I get this error.
I've removed and reinstalled twice and updates appear to be working.

Any ideas? Using Win2000 Sp4 with all patches and updates installed.
 
Answered this myself. Set it up to run a scheduled scan ... and that worked.
Stopped it and ran one manually, and that worked. So there's the fix ... you
have to run one scheduled scan before the ad-hoc one will work. Now to find a
good time to scan on a regular basis.

That isn't necessary for everyone, fortunately. FWIW, I believe that if you
miss a scheduled scan it'll happen at next startup.
