Error 0x80010534 on non-english Win2k

Hi NG,

the problem has already dealed with but apparently w/o solution,
thus I want put it on top again here:

On non-english Win2K version WD beta2 installs properly so far,
and after that the WD service appears running, but when accessing
the GUI program, it denies to run with the above error. A few tips
tips (including an KB article) are laying around but no one does
really help. Seems that all of them are referring to pre-beta2 versions.

I'm sure that lots of people are waiting for a solution since weeks, so
I would ask here if that problem is at least admitted by MS or better:
if someone is in fact working on it...

A simple and sufficient answer would be also (given by a person related
to WD development):
The final and fully-functional WD release will be available end of this
month.
 
Hi Olaf;

I do understand the problems everyone with a non-English Win2K is having
with Defender (and have myself asked for comments from Ms to no avail), but
I think that the assumption that a final and fully-functional release of WD
will be available to coincide with the time bomb expiration of MSAS is
overly optimistic. Unless you have information that we've not seen
published by Microsoft, I've never seen any announcement (before yours) to
indicate that this will happen.
