WD v 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version 1.1.1186.0
Signature Version 1.13.1282.6

Above error keeps recurring every time I attempt a scan, either manually or
automatically.

Any suggestions?

Is your partition type dynamic?
If so--this is a known issue, reproduced, and fixed in an update which is
not yet available. No word on when it will come--it will be part of a
normal update to the program via autoupdate or WindowsUpdate.

Hi Bill

This is discussed within a swedish forum, it must be the same
for SATA/PATA disks and also for USB external discs ?

I am going to ask the user to remove the USB disk if it is so.

But a USB disk must be classified as dynamic as I can figure it out.

"Invalid pointer" must then be that WD cannot identify this disc.

regards
plun

I don't know for sure--I don't have any of those I can look at here at home
or in offices I can reach remotely--hmm--I think I've got one or two sata
drives--but I suspect they could be set up either way.

I don't know if there are any other causes for this error--at this point my
assumption is that all such errors are covered by the prospective fix--but I
can't predict when that will be pushed out.
