I tried to open a program in windows xp & rec'vd this
error msg.

Un-installed the software & tried to reinstall - still
same error.

tried to run program from CD - Gave the same error message.

tried to run the program .EXE and still the same message.

program ran fine a week ago - any suggestions.

Thanks

I got the very same message: "attempt to access invalid address"

I use an accounting program in DOS (NewViews). It worked until las
week and suddenly stopped working just like many other ".EXE" program
like Telemagic (Foxpro).

Any clue to fix that? It would be really appreciated.

I also have this problem. It happens to all my older programs
including all DOS programs. They worked before just find and then
suddenly they stopped and I got this message. It is not a memory
problem, that much I have found out. I was working with a tech on
another problem and mentioned this one. He was able to take it just
part way. He said that my 16 bit subsystem was corrupted. However, I do
not know how to correct this safely and even if this is the true
problem. He was pretty sure that it was caused by a virus but the virus
has been removed. Any other comments will be appreciated. Thanks.
