Hello

I too am experiencing an erratic cursor jumping all over the screen
I'm running a Dell Dimension XPS, with XP Pro. The mouse eithe
a logitech, or a microsoft, wheeled optical mouse

The driver(s) are dated 7/1/01 and are version 5.1.2600.1106
There are four files, hidclass.sys, hidparse.sys, hidusb.sys, an
hid.dll. The first three are located in the System32\Driver
directory, and the fourth in the System32 directory

So far, your answers have been disappointing. Please provid
more details, including knowledge base articles. If I should
download a driver from logitech, please let me know if
can install without removing the old drivers. If I need to
remove the old drivers, please provide guidance

I have tried to reload the drivers from MS (Intellipoint 5.0).

1) You're not very diplomatic, are you ?
2) Which is it, Logitech or Microsoft (mouse). Should be
easy to tell. The drivers are not interchangeable.
3) You obviously know about the KnowledgeBase - use it !
4) Talk to Dell ?
5) Ask your mom ?
6) Replace the mouse ?
7) Have a drink ?

Is this Dell a laptop or desktop pc if its a laptop you
have to disable the touchpad if not it will tend to lock
up your entire unit.

Optical mouse....the optical eye is very sensitive to color and schemes...use WHITE! whether it be a blank sheet of white paper or a white counter top....WHITE is gooood! Worked for me...Let me know if it worked!! If not, I couldn't tell ya!!
GOOD LUCK!
