I have an XP-Home edition with a microsoft wireless
optical mouse. At times the mouse will jump to one side
of the screen, oftentimes while I'm still moving it. It's
very fustrating. I've tried to enable "snap to"
and "enhance precision" and later deactivating those
options, nothing helps. Certain programs such as games,
where the mouse is required, are effected by this, and
it's really begining to tick me off big time!
Can anyone help me?

1) Replace the batteries if applicable.
2) Remove other wireless devices (including phones) away from the computer.
3) Make sure the base has a clear line of sight to the mouse at all times.
4) Reconnect them using the connect buttons on the bottom of the mouse and
on the base.
5) Try a wired mouse, if you do not have the same trouble, then it is the
wireless mouse hardware - either get a new one or start using wired.
