I have a number that has been imported as text. It has a
space at the end of the number for example in should be
$46.53 and instead is $46.53space.

I know how to use the =value() to turn in into a number
but it wont read it with the space at the end.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

One way:

Select your cell/Column. Choose Data/Text to Columns and click
Finish.

another:

Copy a blank cell. Select your cell/range. Choose Edit/Paste Special,
selecting the Values and Add radio buttons. Click OK.

Thanks for the help but so far it all still leaves the
blank cell on the right.

If anyone else has any ideas I would appreciate it.

Try copying the space at the end of one of the numbers and then do an Edit /
Replace on it replacing the space (paste it in) with nothing. Even when that is
done your data will still be text though, as the $ signs are killing it. Now
try doing an Edit / Replace, replacing $ with nothing.

If by any chance the data still appears to be text, copy an empty cell (Not one
formatted as text though), select all your data and do Edit / Paste Special /
ADD, or, put a 1 in an empty cell, copy it and then select your data and do Edit
/ Paste Special / MULTIPLY.

Data>Text to Columns>Delimited>Next "Other" type in ALT + 0160 from the
NumPad>Finish.
