Can anyone help?
Is it true that you can never actually permanently delete as it will allows stay in memory?
Has anyone used one of those advertised 'permanently erase from memory' type products or downloaded any?
Do they really work?
Please tell me?

The only way to erase everything on your hard disk is to remove it from your
computer and smash it into very small pieces then burn them at a very high
temperature. Then throw the ashes into the ocean. Even then if you have
downloaded porn etc from the internet your ISP will have a note of every
site you have visited and will be sending it to the proper authorities at
the end of each day.

So therefore you are finished and the only option you have is suicde.

I used to wonder why there were so many sarcastic answers to posting on the
newsgroups. Now I know

Hi Cee:
When you delete a file or remove a program all that does
is let windows know that this space is available for use.
It is still there until the space it was using is written
over by something else, and even then some of the data may
still be able to be recovered. If you have something you
want to be unretrivable there are shedders avaiable
Norton system works has one built in spybot has one. also

space' it is an option in the programme...make sure u set
the rewrite option over 7 wipes for max security use the
guttman method and INCLUDE UR recycle bin...other options

Not QUITE right. It (whatever "it" is) stays on the hard drive but the space
that "it" occupies is marked for use. The OS will at some stage overwrite
that space with other data. How quickly this happens depends on a lot of
things.....
